Why do they keep making American versions/live-action movies of anime?

Yeh, I was disappointed in the American versions too. I've seen Americanized Astro Boy 3D and DBZ live-action and they aren't any good. They probably thought they could do a good job in those. I know it worked when they did an American version of Godzilla, and the Grudge, and the Ring, etc. It only works in movies (mostly Horror movies), but it won't work in anime. That's why I don't like watching dubs, and i prefer subs.
